		<description>I see 2 things going on here.
First, people don't read the news because the news doesn't apply to their lives anymore.
Second, since we've all been spoiled some by blogs and wikis, we're learning new habits.  Now people expect to be able to comment publicly, agree on truth collaboratively, etc.</description>
