a day without access
Are we just a little too connected?
This past Friday I left to go visit my grandparents in Ohio. Despite the fact that the hotel had free Internet access, I opted to leave the laptop at home. From around 9:30 am Friday to about 7 pm Saturday I was (mostly) off the grid.
I haven’t actually done that in, well, years.
I still thought about “business” of course (the open road from Maryland-Ohio is great for mental exercise). But I went without my email, my RSS, blog updates, research, fun-n-games, etc.
The only downside? A day wasn’t nearly enough.
Give it a try. See what happens.
