Canadian artist Scott Chantler absolutely nails it.

Chantler is a friend of mine from the funny book industry. I’ve long admired his work, and his site is in my regular rotation.

His latest piece (left) is a fantastic example of the power of great illustration, not only as an engaging visual element but also as a work of design and problem solving (as seen in Scott’s explanation of this piece).

If you like Scott’s work, I recommend picking up one or more of his books. He’s the real thing.
